Rapper and skateboarder Lupe Fiasco built his reputation as a skilled emcee by appearing on numerous underground mix tapes. He caught the ear of rap mogul Jay Z and platinum producers Pharrell and Kanye West who assisted him with production on his debut album Food & Liquor. Lupe is currently enjoying the success of his sophomore album The Cool and is already prepping his third release LupEND that he says he’s 85% sure will be his last recording due to the wear and tear of the industry. Although, disenchanted with the music business, Lupe enjoys performing for thousands of fans worldwide. His sold out shows have lasted as long as 2 hours leaving hip hop heads in awe. Lets check out a video from his latest album The Cool titled “Superstar” featuring Matthew Santos on the Hip Hop Report

Rapper and actor, Ice Cube is set to produce and star in “The Comeback.” He plays a former high school football star that coaches his niece into becoming the first female quarterback in Pop Warner Football history. The film is loosely based on the story of 11-year old Jasmine Plummer, an honor role student who led her team to the 56th Annual Pop Warner Superbowl. Rapper David Banner also stars in the inspirational sports film and former Limp Bizkit front man, Fred Durst has been tapped to direct it. Cube is also getting ready to work on the remake to 70’s TV classic “Welcome Back Kotter.” Will Cube be coming back to his recording career? We’ll be waiting…

Speaking of former NWA members…

Dr. Dre’s been droppin’ hints about the Detox album since 2000 and has recently confirmed that it’s finally gonna be dropping this summer. Reportedly, he’s completed 18 potential tracks for what is rumored to be his third and final solo album. The super producer has sold over 80 million records over the past 2 decades. Meanwhile, he’s teamed with Monster Cable to bring music lovers Beats By Dre… a new line of high quality headphones that promises hip hop and rock fans powerful, dynamic and ultra clear headphones that produce low bass notes like no other.. Dre was actually involved in the making of the fancy head sets by tuning them to make sure its listeners experience music as its created. It’s been 2 years in the making and the high-end headphones are available this spring and hittin pockets for $399.99. Lets flash back to Dre’s video Teh Next Episode ft.
