Platinum rap star Missy Elliott is back in the studio prepping the follow up to her 2005 release The Cookbook. She’s a couple songs deep in the album and has already released the first single “Ching-A-Ling” that also appears on the Step Up 2 The Streets soundtrack along with Shake Your Pom Pom where she re-teamed with long time friend and collaborator, Timbaland. Supposedly, he’s gonna be more involved on her new project than he was the last. Missy’s yet to be titled CD is scheduled to drop May 2008….meanwhile lets check out her new video Ching A Ling on The Hip Hop Report.

Timbaland is riding high on the charts with his current pop hit Apologize ft. One Republic from his latest album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value. The third effort shows off his diverse production style and includes a host of collaborations with super stars Dr. Dre, Elton John, Nelly Furtado and others. Word is he’s currently hooked up a couple tracks for Madonna’s upcoming CD and has signed on to put his magic on Beyonce’s next record. Plus he’s already planning to drop his 4th solo album Shock Value II later this year. In addition to making hits, Timbaland has teamed with Rock Star Games to bring PSP lovers the Beaterator, a music mix game slated for 2009.

The Dog is back! DMX has recently signed with Canadian online gaming company Bodog Entertainment. He plans to release his first project for the label titled Walk With Me Now and You’ll Fly With Me Later. Reportedly he’ll re-team with Swizz Beats, the Ruff Ryders and other rap luminaries for the upcoming album. The troubled rapper has denied recent reports of him passing out at a Sony recording studio claiming he was home with his family. Some speculate the rumor started after a behind the scenes video from DJ GQ of X acting somewhat erratic was released on the Internet. Lets take a look:
