HIP HOP REPORT
Episode: 38 FLAVOR FLAV – NAS – RICHEST RAPPERS

Coming up on this episode of the Hip Hop Report Flavor Flav continues his mission to find true love…Nas strikes up controversy once again with the N-Word and we’ll find out what rapper has the biggest bank. All that and more coming up next on the hip hop report!

Flavor Flav continues his quest for true love on the third season of Flavor of Love with over 20 hoochie hopefuls vying to win his heart! Word is he’s already engaged to his last baby mama but Flav denies the rumors claiming to really be in search of “The One.” In addition, to dating and refereeing cat fights on Flavor of Love 3, the world’s greatest hype man will also star in a new sitcom called “Under One Roof”. He plays Calvester Hill, an ex-convict who moves in with his wealthy and conservative brother. The situation gets crazy when he invites his prison buddies over and teaches his nephew to become a gangster rapper. The new sitcom airs on the new TV network My Network TV in April 2008.

Nas got a huge response from hip hop heads and rap critics when he declared hip hop is dead on his last album. Many disagreed, insisting life still exist in the culture’s music. Nas is back to shake things up once again with his 9th studio album titled…well, we’ll just call it the N-word. The album’s title has already drawn heat from the community and the press but that’s not stopping him from releasing the project this Spring. We caught up with Nas by phone and he told us what inspired the controversial titled.

With the political season upon us, Nas says he’s pretty much rollin’ with the candidate that supports abolishing provisions in the Civil Rights Acts that allows the voting rights of African Americans to expire. Hmmm…not sure who that might be. Anyway, Nas’ forthcoming CD Nigger…drops April 22nd.

Forbes recently released its list of the richest African American entertainers. Although Oprah topped the list at $260 million, Jay Z has the deepest pockets in hip hop clocking a cool 83 mil last year and Fiddy not doing too bad at 33 million. With cheese like that they can afford the Death Row Records music catalog. The classic music collection is up for grabs at $25 million. Take me out with the cut that’s been toppin the charts for months!
