Episode 39: Luke Campbell – 50 Cent – Will I Am

Coming up on this episode of the Hip Hop Report Miami bass pioneer, Luke Campbell stamps reality tv with a Parental Advisory, 50 Cent gets his day in court or does he? And Black Eyed Peas lead man Will I Am whips up another Obama track…all that and more coming up next on the Hip Hop Report.

Reportedly rap mogul Luke Campbell will join the growing list of rappers to get a reality show. Uncle Luke will get live for the cameras on a new show called Parental Advisory. The hour long program will give fans an inside look at how the rap pioneer handles raising a family and running his adult entertainment company and music career. The program is being co-produced by his new company The Luke Entertainment Group that provides content for new media such as IPods and mobile phones. Look for Parental Advisory to premiere on VH1 this summer.

Recently, a judge ruled in favor of Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent in a child support case brought on by his baby’s mama who claimed she needed an additional $25 K per month to raise their 10 year old son, doubling her current child support payments to $50,000. After the court reviewed her expenses, they reduced her payments to just under $7000 per month. Fiddy may have saved some cheese in that situation but he didn’t have such luck in the case of a New York photographer who claims 50’s bodyguards assaulted and left him injured in the street as he attempted to photograph the rap star leaving Jacob The Jeweler back in 2003. The photog filed a 21 million dollar lawsuit claiming his civil rights had been violated. He didn’t get the 21 mil but reportedly he’s satisfied with the settlement.
Presidential candidate Barack Obama has been inspiring folks across the nation including producer and lead man of the Black Eyed Peas, Will I Am. The rapper recently produced a remix of Senator Obama’s New Hampshire speech titled Yes, We Can and invited some cool friends like Common, John Legend, Tatiana Ali and others to participate in the song’s video. The video got millions of hits on the Internet and word is, he’s already back in the studio putting together yet another Obama song tentatively titled “We Are The Ones.” We recently caught up with Will I Am at a red carpet event in Los Angeles and this is what he had to say about the presidential hopeful!
